YBB partnered with Rebuilding Together Boston last month through the Safe at Home Program, which helps meet the pressing health and safety needs of our senior communities.

Rebuilding Together says that minority seniors from Boston’s neighborhoods including Dorchester, Roxbury, and Mattapan were among those hit the hardest with COVID-19 due to health access disparities, larger numbers of multi-generational households, and many residents continuing to work during the pandemic due to being considered essential workers.

YBB partnered with Rebuilding Together Boston to help address this increased need during the pandemic by completing the critical updates needed to allow one senior in Roxbury to stay in the home. Work was completed to make a bathtub accessible, rebuild front steps, weatherize windows, add non-slip treads on stairs, add additional railing to prevent falling, and much more. We are grateful to have the opportunity to give back to our local senior population through this partnership. Check out the Rebuilding Together Boston website for more information on this wonderful organization.
