This week YBB staff had the pleasure of meeting our newest cohort of Designery students who will be joining us for the summer session. All 15 of these students are participating in the John Hancock MLK Scholars Program, which provides summer jobs in corporate and community settings for more than 600 Boston teenagers.

In addition to the regular Designery curriculum which helps students develop fundamental graphic, modeling, and design-thinking skills through real design projects for non-profit clients around the city, these MLK Scholars will attend bi-weekly personal development workshops that focus on youth success on the job, at school, and in the community. YBB is one of nearly 60 local nonprofit organizations providing employment for Boston area youth participating in the program. We have partnered with John Hancock through their MLK Scholars program for many years, and are grateful for their sponsorship of our students again this summer.
