YBB Featured Project: Harry S. Truman Apartments

This month, many of our students are busy working on the revitalization of the Harry S. Truman apartments in Cambridge. This 59-unit affordable housing facility serves seniors and disabled individuals with one-bedroom apartments, community space, common kitchen, common laundry, office, and maintenance spaces. The renovation will include updates to the mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and envelope systems as well as a comprehensive modernization and upgrade of interior spaces.

YBB is responsible for the buildout of two units in partnership with Starlite Building Services, under Shawmut Design and Construction as the Construction Manager. The buildout includes metal stud framing, drywall, door frames, hardware and millwork. Check out the slideshow below to see the work of our students so far!

Not only does this large-scale project provide great experience for our students, but we're also proud to help combat housing insecurity through the preservation and expansion of affordable housing opportunities for some of the Commonwealth's most vulnerable residents.
